Tom Yoritaka is the Founder &Global Managing Director of Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence (Cisco EIR) – the company’s corporate startup development program aimed at early-stage companies. As the global head of Cisco EIR, he works with startups & scaleups innovating in the Internet of Everything/Things, AI/Deep Learning/Big Data, Cloud, Enterprise Mobility, Security & Block-chain. Cisco EIR provides startups/scaleups with opportunities to build strategic relationships with Cisco Business Units& executives, co-working space, software, financial support & potential strategic investments from Cisco. He was previously the Senior Director & General Manager of Social Solutions & Platforms, building & managing Cisco’s Web software products designed to advance social interactions, knowledge management & collaboration for Cisco customers & partners.
Prior to joining Cisco, Tom held various executive & leadership positions at Yahoo! & Microsoft. He also worked as a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group & McKenna Group. He holds a master’s degree from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business & an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics, statistics & economics with honors from Northwestern University.
