Özlem joined EIF in 2008 after taking several positions in the Turkish Treasury, Petrol Ofisi and Technology Development Foundation of Turkey. She led the execution of more than 20 bond issues of Turkey in the international capital markets amounting to a total of approximately EUR 10bn – including landmark transactions like the debut Euro-denominated bond issue by an emerging market borrower and the first 30-year bond of the Republic in 2000 as well as financing of high priority public projects in energy, infrastructure and defence sectors. She leads EIF operations and business development in Turkey consisting of two fund-of-funds, operations involving a regional equity fund, technology transfer accelerator funds and a guarantee facility.
Özlem has a MBA degree from the University of Birmingham and BSc in Economics from the Middle East Technical University.
