Timur Topalgoekceli is an energy economist and entrepreneur working on energy storage and smart city solutions. He founded Hello Tomorrow Turkey, accelerating the creation of a high-impact science entrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey and built one of Hello Tomorrow's first international hubs. Previously, Timur worked at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, where he was the lead investment analyst and co-author of the annual World Energy Outlook, IEA’s flagship publication. In addition, he is a co-author of the IEA’s special reports on Iraq (2012), Brazil (2013), Sub-Saharan Africa (2014) and India (2015). Prior to that, Timur worked in Equity Research Sales at Standard & Poor’s Investment Division, covering UK, French, German, Swiss, Austrian and Eastern European markets. Having graduated from the London School of Economics, Timur has worked on energy projects in various positions, including at a J.P. Morgan Emerging Market Hedge Fund in London or at Nobel Laureate Mohammed Yunus’ Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. He was selected as the only undergraduate to work with post-doctoral research fellows at SciencePo Paris' Centre for European Studies on its European Southern Corridor gas supply project.
Timur is a member of Sandbox, a global network of 1,000 young leaders under 30, a TEDx Speaker and an international keynote speaker on energy and innovation. Timur is fluent in German, Turkish, French and English.
